Dr Benn Lawson awarded Emerald Citation of Excellence Award 2013
Dr Benn Lawson has received an Emerald Citation of Excellence Award 2013 for his paper "Knowledge sharing in interorganizational product development teams: the effect of formal and informal socialization mechanisms" (Journal of Product Innovation Management, 2009). This distinguished annual award recognises the 50 most outstanding articles published by the top 300 business and management journals worldwide. The paper was co-authored with Ken Petersen, Rob Handfield and Paul Cousins.
"Building new product advantage within inter-firm NPD projects: the role of supplier technology and absorptive capabilities" is Runner-Up for the Chris Voss Best Paper Award, 2013
Dr Benn Lawson was Runner-Up for the Chris Voss Best Paper Award (alongside co-authors Beverly Tyler and Antony Potter) at the EurOMA Conference, Dublin 2013, for the paper "Building New Product Advantage Within Inter-Firm NPD Projects: The Role of Supplier Technology and Absorptive Capabilities".
CPEI's Dr Stephan Schramm awarded his PhD
Congratulations to Dr Stephan Schramm, researcher at CPEI, who was conferred his PhD for work on "The Operations-Marketing Interface". The external examiner was Professor Linda Hendry, Associate Dean and Professor of Operations Management at the University of Lancaster's School of Management.
Dr Dana Pavel joins CPEI as a research associate
Welcome to Dr Dana Pavel, our new researcher at CPEI. Dana is working on a new project jointly with the Computing Lab and BT on measuring stress related to communications process in office settings.
Article "The genealogy of lean production" wins Journal of Operations Management award
Dr Matthias Holweg received a "Top 10 Cited Article, 2007-2011" award from the Journal of Operations Management for his paper "The genealogy of lean production". The paper outlines the conceptual evolution of the philosophy underlying the "Lean Production" concepts.
Update of sourcing survey
CPEI staff have been working with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on the "Growing the Automotive Supply Chain" work that is being conducted under the Automotive Council UK. An initial report was published in 2011, with an update released this month.
